Deshae Darrell and her Brookhaven College Women’s Soccer teammates suffered their first defeat in Conference at the hands of Richland College.
Brookhaven took the lead in the 11th minute when striker Joseline Sorto threaded a ball through to Jordan Gillespie who slotted the ball home. The first half ended 1-0.
Brookhaven had most of the play for the second half but 2 goalkeeping mistakes and poor defensive clearance in the 47th, 59th and 82nd minutes respectively caused Brookhaven to lose 3-1.
Meanwhile, Ricaija Simmons was on target for Mountain View College against Murray State College. Mountain View were up 2-1 at the half before Murray State equalized early in the second half to make it 2-2.
Simmons came off the bench in the 55th minute and it didn't take him long to make his mark after a Mountain View corner hit off the post and found Simmons on the penalty spot and he made no mistake by putting the ball home. Murray State would equalize again before Mountain View got the game winner in the 80th minute.
