Eva Frazzoni and her College of Saint Rose Women’ Soccer teammates extended their unbeaten streak to four matches with tonight's 1-0 triumph at Northeast-10 Conference rival American International.
The College of Saint Rose dominated the action by outshooting the host American International by a 19-2 margin, including a 7-0 mark throughout the first half.
"This was a great team win. We played with passion and intelligence while maintaining an outstanding work rate for ninety minutes," said head coach Laurie Darling Gutheil.
Senior midfielder Roxana Hernandez scored the game's lone goal when she knocked home a loose ball in the area with 16:26 gone by. Seven seconds earlier, junior midfielder Julianne Johnston created the stir by rifling a shot off the crossbar.
Between the posts, sophomore keeper Marika Laurendeau was called upon to make one save throughout her second clean sheet this fall. In the process, she lowered her goals-against-average to 0.25 on the year. Junior Mikayla Demanche recorded four of her six saves in the second half for American International.
