Osagi Bascome and his Bristol City Under 23 teammates booked their place in the Gloucestershire Senior Challenge Cup Final after a 3-0 win at Mangotsfield United.
First-half goals from Jonny Smith, Diego De Girolamo and Jake Andrews secured comfortable progress for Alex Ball’s side, who will now meet Cinderford Town or Cirencester Town in the Final.
Smith struck after just five minutes, latching onto a pass from De Girolamo before cutting back inside on his right boot to fire home into the far corner.
The visitors doubled their advantage on 19 minutes as Kel Akpobire sprung the offside trap and unselfishly cut the ball back across goal for De Girolamo to convert.
Andrews provided the third on the stroke of half-time with a storming run from midfield and a stunning strike, beating Steve Phillips – the former City stopper – at his near post.
The second half proved a quiet affair in comparison to the first, with City able to withdraw Smith and De Girolamo.
