Osagi Bascome was an unused substitute as his Ten-man Bristol City Under-23 teammates suffered a resounding 5-0 defeat at the hands of Sheffield United.
City lost Charlie Harris to a suspected broken leg early in the second half, when they were already 2-0 down, and Joe McNulty was red-carded late on to add further misery.
Jordan Hallam was the star of the show for the home team, scoring four goals in the rout, with Tyler Smith grabbing the other goal.
Coach Alex Ball said, "It was a bad day at the office for us. Harris suffered a serious injury on the hour and has been taken to hospital. We wish him a speedy recovery.
"Our defending on the day was disappointing and Joe McNulty received his marching orders for two bookings late on, summing up the day really."
