The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) Women’s Committee launched the 2017 Women’s Football activities.
The BFA Women’s Committee led by co-chairs Shequita Parsons and Charryse Bean, announced the activities will take place from Saturday, February 4th through June 2017.
Parsons said, “The Women’s Committee have just completed a highly successful Women’s Football Coaching Course which was attended by 27 coaches. We will immediately put the coaches to work along with last year’s coaches in the player combine that will be held this Saturday, February 4th from 5pm to 7pm.”
Parsons continued, “We are also launching the “Live Your Goals” campaign that will highlight women in football. Football has impacted the lives of many women. Leslie White, Shelly Leman, Dominique Richardson, Terry-Lynn Paynter, Ebonie Burgess, Ricketta Warner, Taznae Fubler, Teyah Lindo, Micah Pond, Danni Watson, Lindsey Pacheco, Emily Cabral and Koa Goodchild are all here today to help promote the game and the women’s activities.”
The Women’s Youth Leagues will start February 11th, 2017, while the Senior Women’s Leagues will start in the Spring of 2017.
Parsons concluded, “We anticipate building on the success of the “Girls Play Too” and Women’s League initiatives last year. In addition we look forward to our U17, U20 and Senior women doing well in the World Cup qualifiers this summer. Having sustainable youth and senior leagues will ensure the upward trajectory of our women’s national football teams continue.”
