Hat tricks by sophomore Alliyah Nolan and freshman Margriet Samsom boosted Navarro to an 8-0 Region XIV Women’s Soccer victory over the Paris Dragons.
Coach Alicia Wilson’s Navarro won their third straight match, their second consecutive by shutout and their eighth shutout of the regular season. With the win, NC took a one-half lead over Angelina in the battle for Region XIV’s third playoff seed.
Nolan boosted her team and conference-high goal-scoring total to 22 and extended her streak of scoring at least one goal in a match to six. She has scored goals in 12 of the 13 games in which she has played this season.
Nolan’s hat trick was her first since a 5-goal performance on September 3 in a 12-0 non-conference win over Cisco. She scored first-half goals at the 13- and 44-minute marks as Navarro eased out to a 3-0 halftime lead. Then, she completed the hat trick 11 minutes into the second half to give NC a 4-0 advantage.
