Leverock in Action
As the saying goes when one thing don’t work, you finish strong in another, that seems to be the attitude of Delray Rawlins as he helped guide Brighton & Hove Cricket Club’s 1st XI to a 13 run victory over East Grinstead Cricket Club in a low scoring affair.
Batting first at the Main Ground-Saint Hill Ground, Rawlins and Brighton & Hove were bowled all out for 140, opener Bryce Hounsome was the top scorer with 45, while Rawlins batting at number 3 was out for 6 off 14 deliveries. Lewis Hatchett was the pick of the East Grinstead bowlers returning figures of 25-3-69-6.
In reply East Grinstead went from 121/3, were bowled all out for 127, William Adkin and Ian Sturmer both scored 40 runs each, while Rawlins proved difficult to deal with – with the ball returning figures of 11-4-27-4.
Kamau Leverock’s Caythorpe Cricket Club’s Notts 1st XI match against Farnsfield Cricket Club was abandoned due to rain.
Caythorpe won the toss and elected to field on a very overcast day, Farnsfield had reached 145/6 after 37.1 overs before rain put a halt to the game.
Matthew Sisson was their top scorer with 39, while James Hindson was the pick of the Caythorpe bowlers with figures of 12-1-36-4, while Leverock bowled 8.1-1-33-0.
