As the saying goes when one thing don’t work, you finish strong in another, that seems to be the attitude of Delray Rawlins as he helped guide Brighton & Hove Cricket Club’s 1st XI to a 13 run victory over East Grinstead Cricket Club in a low scoring affair.
Batting first at the Main Ground-Saint Hill Ground, Rawlins and Brighton & Hove were bowled all out for 140, opener Bryce Hounsome was the top scorer with 45, while Rawlins batting at number 3 was out for 6 off 14 deliveries. Lewis Hatchett was the pick of the East Grinstead bowlers returning figures of 25-3-69-6.
In reply East Grinstead went from 121/3, were bowled all out for 127, William Adkin and Ian Sturmer both scored 40 runs each, while Rawlins proved difficult to deal with – with the ball returning figures of 11-4-27-4.
KAMAU LEVEROCK
Kamau Leverock’s Caythorpe Cricket Club’s Notts 1st XI match against Farnsfield Cricket Club was abandoned due to rain.
Caythorpe won the toss and elected to field on a very overcast day, Farnsfield had reached 145/6 after 37.1 overs before rain put a halt to the game.
Matthew Sisson was their top scorer with 39, while James Hindson was the pick of the Caythorpe bowlers with figures of 12-1-36-4, while Leverock bowled 8.1-1-33-0.
