Vanessa James and her skating partner Morgan Cipres are set to compete in the ISU Grand Prix Skate Canada International 2017 Championships.
James and Cipres enter this event ranked 5th in the ISU World Standings for Pairs Skating.
James and Cipres come into the Championships having won the 2017 Autumn Classic International, they aso won the Figure Skating Championships 2017 World Team Trophy in Tokyo, Japan.
The pair also won the French MASTERS DE PATINAGE 2017 Seniors Couples Free Skating event.
James and Cipres are still waiting to see if France will in fact head to the Winter Olympic Games which are slated for February 9th - 25th in Pyeongchang, South Korea — 50 miles from the North Korean border.
Back in September Laura Flessel, the country's sports prime minister said, “France will not compete in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang if safety cannot be guaranteed and the state of North Korea's atomic weapons program worsens.”
