NAHKI WELLS

Nahki Wells took center stage in Saturday’s official Queens Park Rangers Matchday Programme.

In the latest edition of this season’s ever-popular publication, Rangers top scorer Wells told Hoops just how keen he and his team-mates were to avenge last weekend’s defeat at Brentford and finish the season strongly.

Wells would score the only goal of the game in Queens Park Rangers 1 – 0 win over Leeds United. Ebere Eze's deflected free-kick fell into the path of striker Wells who bundled the ball in from close range.

NATHAN TROTT

Nathan Trott’s teammate Joe Pigott struck his fourth goal in five games to help Wimbledon to a first victory in 2020.

A clinical strike from Pigott proved to be the difference in a 1-0 victory, but the whole team deserved credit for showing spirit in abundance to defy Peterborough. Time and time again, the visitors threatened an equalizer, but Wimbledon defended valiantly.

Trott was required to make a fingertip save to stop Ivan Toney’s looping header. Shortly afterwards, Wimbledon just about survived an equalizer in a goalmouth incident that required Luke O’Neill to received treatment. Trott just about won a race to reach the ball first with Toney, but his clearance rebounded off the Peterborough striker and towards goal.

Trott did well to stop a shot by Toney from finding the net.

JONTE SMITH

Jonte Smith was not in the Cheltenham United team as his teammates suffered a first away League Two defeat in 11 matches as Perry Ng’s second half strike settled a closely fought encounter against Crewe Alexandra at The Alexandra Stadium.

REGGIE LAMBE

Reggie Lambe was available after serving his suspension, but he was not included in the Cambridge United team that slumped to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Stevenage at the Abbey Stadium.

Goals from Elliott List, Jake Cassidy, Charlie Carter and Charlie Lakin inflicted a painful loss on United, whose poor run of form continued in League Two.

JUSTIN DONAWA & OSAGI BASCOME

Two goals from Adam Campbell and a late third by Justin Donawa lifted Darlington four positions and put them into the play off places, Osagi Bascome was an unused substitute against Alfreton Town.

Already ahead 2 – 0, Darlington made it 3-0 in stoppage time when Jack Lambert whipped in a free kick for Donawa to turn home his ninth goal of the season.

MILAN BUTTERFIELD

Milan Butterfield and his Kidderminster teammates finished even with Spennymoor Town 1 – 1. Rob Ramshaw gave Spennyoor the lead in the 36th minute, but four minutes later Ashley Chambers equalized for Kidderminster.

AMAR LEWIS

Amar Lewis and his Harlow Town teammates had a promising start going two up inside 12 minutes, but Chipstead hit back and took the lead midway through the second half in their South Central Division battle. A late goal for Chipstead added a fourth to put any Harlow comeback out of the question.
