The Bermuda Rugby Football Union announced that the Bermuda Men’s National Team will be playing visiting Canadian rugby team Queens University on Saturday February 24, 2018 at National Stadium with a kick off time of 4:30pm.
Bermuda will be using this opportunity to look at potential squad selection for their up-coming Rugby American North (RAN) Caribbean Championships which is due to kick off in May.
Peter Lewington has taken the reigns to help steer Bermuda through the 2018 competition.
Lewington said, “It is an absolute honor to be asked to take up the position of head coach of the men’s national team. In years past the Men’s team has done extremely well and even won the competition and I will be looking to put Bermuda back where they belong at the top.”
With the past few years being view as development for the team Coach Lewington will be looking to showcase Bermuda’s potential in the game on Saturday.
“Under Brian Archibald’s leadership he gave the team a great foundation for us to grow from and going into the international season we will look to continue this development,” said Lewington.
The Queens University Gaels went undefeated in their 2017-2018 local season and they will be looking to give the senior men’s team tough competition when they face-off tomorrow.
This year Bermuda will face tough competition in the RAN Caribbean Championships from Cayman and Trinidad in away games and equally tough competition from USA South in their only home game.
