Bermuda's English Footballers Round Up

NAHKI WELLS

Izzy Brown showed why he is one of the leading talents in the Sky Bet Championship as Nahki Wells and Huddersfield returned to winning ways with a 2-0 result against Ipswich.

Brown, signed on loan from Chelsea for the rest of the season, scored just before half-time to pile the pressure on under-fire Blues boss Mick McCarthy.

The England Under-20 player struck a superb individual effort as Huddersfield bounced back from a defeat against play-off rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

Christopher Schindler then added another in the second half to complete a miserable week for Ipswich after a shock FA Cup exit to National League side Lincoln.

RAI SIMONS

Gary Caldwell's first game in charge of Rai Simons and his Chesterfield teammates ended in a goalless draw at home to AFC Wimbledon.

Simons started the match, but was replaced in the 81st minute.

Chesterfield remain in the relegation zone after collecting a point from a match which did not produce a shot on target until the 51st minute.

Chesterfield enjoyed the bulk of play in the first half but Wimbledon's stubborn defence restricted the hosts to a series of long-range shots from Dion Donohue, Dan Gardner, Ched Evans and Jay O'Shea which all flew wide.

JONTE SMITH

Jonte Smith found the back of the net yet again as Lewes Football Club drew 1 - 1 with Ramsgate.

Tom Chapman gave Ramsgate a 1 - 0 lead when he converted from the penalty spot in the 29th minute, but on the hour Smith scored the level the affair and with no further goals the teams would share the points.

JAYLON BATHER & TEVAHN TYRELL

The story to be told on this freezing afternoon was one all too common for Jaylon Bather, Tevahn Tyrell and their Ilkeston teammates season.

There was lots of effort, a few chances created and some bright and dominant spells, but they lost to the odd goal once again and dropped points against one of the sides battling along with them to stay in the division.

After a quiet opening ten minutes, the rarity of an inspired 11th minute substitution paid dividends for the visitors as it provided the only goal of the game.

Ryan Bell had replaced the injured Steve Kinniburgh early on and within two minutes he was able to profit after Jamie Hannis had parried a Jordan Crawford effort, the ball scrambled in from a couple of yards out with Ben Milnes also challenging to try and score the goal.
