Bermuda Junior Cyclist to Compete in JCCC Championships

IslandStats.com
Six Bermuda Junior Cyclists will compete at the Junior Caribbean Cycling Championships (JCCC) which will take place in the Dominican Republic on October 23rd & 24th, 2021.

www.islandstats.com can confirm that Liana Medeiros, Liam Flannery, Zander Miller, Tommy Marshall, Thomas Quarterly, and Cameron Morris will represent Bermuda.

Once in the Dominican Republic, the cyclists will participate in the Road Bike Championship on October 24th. One day prior, October 23rd, cyclists will participate in the Time Trial Championship.

For the Time Trial Medeiros will compete in the Girl’s Category, Flannery, and Miller are set to take part in the Junior Men’s Division, and Quarterly will take part in the Juvenile Men’s Division.

Bermuda Bicycle Association President Peter Dunne said, “This team is comprised of two guys Flannery, and Miller who have been to this competition before as well as many others, and then the others will be making their international cycling debut.

That being said, we are confident that they all will be competitive. Flannery and Miller were medalists in the last edition of this championship when it was held in Guyana in 2019, so we have high hopes for them based on their development in the last two years.

We know that the rest of the team is strong and race-ready so it is largely up to who shows up to race from the other countries. One of the interesting things about this competition is that every year there are new competitors who are capable of surprising us all.”
