Bermuda Cyclist Compete in Xalapa

Bermuda Cyclist took to the Road Race course in Xalapa, Mexico in high elevation and high heat with Nicole Mitchell, Zoenique Williams and Dominique Mayho all taking part.

In the Women’s race, Mitchell finished 35th clocking a time of 2:22.07 finishing 10:56 behind the winner Marlies Mejias from Cuba who edged her teammate Yumari Gonzalez they both recorded a time of 2:11.11.

Mitchell completed the grueling 19.3km First Lap in a time of 35:43, she was in 15th place, at the 38.6km mark Mitchell was in 34th with an overall time of 1:10.15. 57.9km down and Mitchell found herself in 35th with the time at 1:45.05 and then she closed out the 77.2km course finishing in the 35th place.

Williams completed the first lap in a time of 35:43, she was in 16th place, but the heat and altitude got to her and she had to withdraw.

Mayho completed three laps in the Men’s race before he to succumb to the heat and altitude as well having to withdraw. Mayo completed two laps before withdrawing, the pace was fast and furious, with Mayho clocking 32.08 when he completed the First Lap that covered the 19.3km, the clock was on 1:02.04 after the completion of the Second Lap when Mayho stopped.
