Bermuda Olympic hopeful Jesse Washington is hoping the postponement of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gibes him the opportunity to qualify for the Games now slated for 2021.
Washington has now found the love of the sport and is back in training after a difficult year in school, balancing both academics and swimming.
Washington said, “I went through a difficult period, but now I have found the passion for the sport again and I will be looking to try and qualify for the Games.”
“I was swimming good last year, but struggled in the World Championships and the Pan American Games, we had changed caches at school, so a lot was going on, but now I feel different and I am looking forward to swimming again,” said Washington.
