Warwick Academy Students won Two Medals on the Opening Day of the 27th Annual Speedo Winter Championships hosted by the Plantation Swim Team in Florida.
During the 15-16 Women 1650 Yard Freestyle Skyler Powell finished 3rd capturing the Bronze Medal touching the wall in a time of 18:15.91. The second Medal of the day came when Sam Williamson won the Silver Medal finishing 2nd competing in the 13-14 Men’s 50 Yard Breaststroke clocking 27.92, while Keagan Woolley finished 5th clocking 28.43.
Brian Desmond finished 7th competing in the 13-14 Boys 1650 Yard Freestyle clocking 17:37.73.
Jesse Washington finished 5th in the Men’s 50 Yard Butterfly touching the wall in a time of 22.81, while Skyler Powell finished 15th competing in the 15-16 Women’s 50 Yard Butterfly.
During the 15-16 Men’s 50 Yard Butterfly, Zebedee Wakely finished 16th with a time of 25.17, while Taylor White finished 19th during the 13-14 Women’s 50 Yard Butterfly clocking 28.00, with Gabriela Pitman finishing 34th clocking 28.66.
Jack Harvey clocked a time of 28.39 on his way to finishing 49th competing in the 13-14 Men’s 50 Yard Butterfly, Powell would touch the wall in a time of 30.22 on her way to finishing 12th competing in the 15-16 Women’s 50 Yard Backstroke.
During the 13-14 Women’s 50 Yard Backstroke Logan Watson-Brown finished 4th with a time of 28.59, Pitman finished 22nd touching the wall in a time of 31.13.
Desmond finished 12th in the 13-14 Men’s 50 Yard Backstroke clocking a time of 28.36, while Harvey was clocked at 28.79 finishing 15th and Woolley finished 19th clocking 29.39.
