The One Bermuda Alliance held a Press Conference to announce additional election candidates for the upcoming General Election, with the party confirming five candidates for the west end constituencies.
One of their candidates was National Swimming Coach Ben Smith, who will run in #31 Southampton West Central, where he will match up against the PLP’s Crystal Caesar.
Smith believes Sports can help this Country in so many ways, “Through Sports we can help people achieve their goals, that’s why I got involved I see where I could assist and I have put my hand up to help make a difference.”
Smith will take time out from canvassing due to his commitment as the National Swimming coach, he will lead the Bermuda team to Trinidad for the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Amateur Swimming Confederation (CCCAN) Championships.
Smith said on that, “I have made a commitment to these youngsters to make a sacrifice and that’s what I will have to do in order to keep my word.”
