Five Medals On Day One in Canada

Six young swimmers began competing in Canada on Day One of the Mallards Long Course Challenge, picking up 5 Medals.

During the 13 - 14 Girls 50 Meter Backstroke, Abigail Powell finished 8th, she touched the wall in a time of 36.40, she also participated in the 13 - 14 Girls 100 Meter Breaststroke finishing 48th with a time of 1:46.62.

Chelsea Lomas finished 9th competing in the Girls 10 & Under 200 Meter IM, while Rhys Insley finished 3rd competing in the Boys 10 & Under 200 Meter IM stopping the clock in 3:06.79.

Bella Howes stopped the clock in a time of 40.05 to finish 2nd competing in the Girls 10 & Under 50 Meter Butterfly and Daria Desmond was was 5th clocking 41.90. Tayla Horan finished 9th competing in the Girls 12 Year Olds 50 Meter Butterfly clocking a time of 36.89.

Insley picked up another 3rd place finish competing in the Boys 10 & Under 50 Meter Butterfly he touched the wall in 39.85. Lomas picked up another second place finish when she clocked 41.63 during the Girls 10 & Under 50 Meter Backstroke, Howes finished 4th with a time of 42.39 and Desmond stopped the clock in 46.52 to finish 6th. Horan was 12th competing in the Girls 12 Year Olds 50 Meter Backstroke clocking 39.40.

Howes won the Girls 10 & Under 200 Meter Freestyle when she was clocked at 2:48.40, Lomas was 6th with a time of 2:56.63 and Desmond had a time of 2:58.31 to finish 8th. Horan finished 9th competing in the Girls 12 Year Olds 200 Meter Freestyle clocking a time of 2:38.53.
