Sam Williamson’s parents phone will be ringing off the hook later this week as he became the Fastest UK 11-12 Boy’s 50m Breaststroke Swimmer of all time.
Competing during the Harbour Swim Club’s 2016 Short Course Club Championships at the National Sports Center, Williamson set the record time in his sights.
Unfortunately for Bermuda, Williamson is not eligible to compete for Bermuda, so he is registered for a club in the UK and competes under their Flag.
Competing in a Time Trial in the morning session Williamson touched the wall with the clock reading 33.03, breaking his own Record of 33.54 and broke the UK record time of 33.24 set by Joshua Spibey back on November 3rd 2001.
Williamson went even lower in the Final when he clocked a time of 32.84.
Williamson did not just stop there as he set a new Bermuda 11-12 Boy’s 200m IM Record touching the wall in a time of 2:30.41, this time broke a 16 year old record by seven seconds set by Stephen Fahy who recorded a time of 2:37.87 on June 1st 1990.
