Daley Breaks Twenty-Nine Year Old Record

Following our coverage of the 3 days of the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association’s Winter Age Group Championships and the 13th FINA World Short Course Swimming Championship featuring Julian Fletcher and Rebecca Heyliger, www.islandstats.com can bring you some record breaking performances of Elan Daley.

With both Fletcher and Heyliger off today we can focus on the performance of Daley who recently competed in the 11-12 Girls Youth Cup 2016 hosted by North York Aquatic Club in Ontario, Canada.

Daley clocked a record breaking 50m Freestyle time of 26.74, breaking her own record of 27.17 she set on November 5th.

She lowered her 100m Freestyle record time of 59.83 set on November 4th clocking 59.07, Daley then broke Jennifer Smatt’s 29 year old 100m Breaststroke record, Smatt on August 1st 1987 stopped the clock in 1:17.89, with Daley clocking 1:16.00.

Daley lowered her 200m Medley time of 2:28.53 set back on June 19th during the Ontario Summer Festival, when she touched the wall in a time of 2:28.47. Emma Harvey’s March 22nd 2014, 100m Medley record time of 1:10.65, was broken when Daley recorded a time of 1:07.49, Daley’s 400m Medley time of 5:23.92 broke her own record time of 5:29.82 set on November 4th.

The 100m Backstroke record time of 1:08.76 Daley set on November 5th was broken when she clocked 1:07.41, she lowered the 800m Freestyle record time to 9:58.65 and then she finished with a 400m Freestyle time of 4:55.33.
