Davis Chatfield did his damage over the entire front nine. Michael Carbone did the bulk of his damage on one hole on the back nine. And the two ended up Monday in the same spot tied for the lead in the 86th Rhode Island Golf Association Open Championship at Ledgemont.
Daniel Augustus shot and Opening Round 3-over par 74, his Round consisted of 2 Birdies, 13 Pars, 1 Bogey and 2 Double Bogey’s.
On the Front Nine Augustus started with three consecutive Pars, before a Double Bogey on the Par 3 fourth set him back to 2-over, but a Birdie on the Par 4 fifth saw him at 1-over, back to back Pars followed before another Birdie on the Par 5 eighth moved him back to Even Par, which he remained after a Par on the ninth.
The Back Nine saw Augustus begin with four consecutive Pars, before he recorded a Bogey on the Par 4 fourteenth, which was followed by a Par and then a Double Bogey that saw him at 3-over with still two holes to play, he would manage to shoot Par on the final two holes to close out at 3-over.
