Mitchell Campbell and his Skidmore College Men’s Golf teammates posted another strong finish, finishing in a tie for fifth place out of 14 clubs at the Camp Lejeune Gold Championship, held at the Paradise Point Golf Course. Skidmore finished with a three-round score of 891 strokes, tied with Mary Washington. The Thoroughbreds were three strokes behind Randolph-Macon in fourth and eight strokes ahead of seventh-place De Pauw. Methodist won the event with a three-round score of 850, followed by Oglethorpe (865) and N.C. Wesleyan (871). Campbell had the highest individual finish for Skidmore, shooting an incredible two-under 68 on the final day for a three-day total of 217, finishing in a tie for 14th place. Mackenzie Nelson was four strokes behind in 20th place, with 221. Gabe Rossi finished third among Thoroughbreds with 223 strokes, with Teddy Badenhausen (231) and Jacob Hempel (232) rounding out the group.
