Sophomore Pascalle Tego and junior Kyra Alexander finished in a tie for 13th place with identical rounds of 78-79-157, as Elizabeth Parsons and her Wagner Women's Golf teammates finished sixth at the fourth annual Seahawk Women's Invitational.
This year's edition of the Seahawk Invitational, hosted by Wagner College, was a 36-hole two-day event held at the par-72, 5,863-yard Quail Valley Golf Club, located just outside of Gettysburg, PA. The 10-team field, comprised of 59 contestants, was led by Sacred Heart as the Pioneers' 310-299-609 winning score outdistanced second-place Quinnipiac (311-310-621) by 12 strokes. Navy finished third (297-326-623) and Central Connecticut was fourth (318-310-628), while Saint Francis U (317-321-638) and Wagner (317-327-644) rounded out the top six.
Senior Ariana Furrie recorded the Seahawks' third-best score (79-80-159), which was just two shots behind Tego and Alexander and good for a T-18th finish. Freshman Parsons finished in a tie for 38th (82-89-171), while senior Lexie LeClair competed but did not figure in the Seahawks' scoring.
Morgan Frazier of Navy took home first-place individual honors (73-77-150), followed closely by Central Connecticut's Ella Williams and Ellen Nighbor of Sacred Heart, who shot matching scores of 151. Three Pioneers in all placed among the top-five as Abigail Hood was fourth at 152, followed by teammate Stephanie Lowe, who finished in a tie for fifth with Quinnipiac's Alexandra Sazhin as both Lowe and Sazhin checked in with a pair of 153 scores.
For Tego, this marks the second straight that the 2016 Second-Team All-Northeast Conference (NEC) performer finished with a top-15 finish, as she was also tied for 13th at last week's Kingsmill Collegiate, hosted by William & Mary.
