St. Lucia’s Lisa Dala Noel & Kerin Neptune and Casimie & Jamilla Lansiquot is the only team unbeaten after two days of completion at the NORCECA Continental Cup ECVA Women’s Zonal Phase in Castaways Beach at Antigua & Barbuda.
Bermuda is being represented by the teams of Lisa LeBlanc & Rebecca White and Stacey Dorush & Vikki Stevenson and they finished 2 & 2 on the day.
In their opening match of the day, Bermuda defeated British Virgin Islands 2 – 0, LeBlanc & White defeated Tyalia Nibbs & Amadona Creese 21-18, 21-7, while Dorush & Stevenson defeated Stacey Lauren Welch & Tanisha Georges 21-11, 21-7.
Bermuda then defeated Grenada 2 – 0, LeBlanc & White defeated Shakira Collymore & Deanne John 21-10, 21-17, followed by Dorush & Stevenson defeating Thornia Williams & Renisha Stafford 21-16, 21-14.
Bermuda in their next match fell 2 – 1 to Dominica, LeBlanc & White went down to Zahidu Henry & Marcia Renault-Gustave 21-18, 21-19, but Dorush & Stevenson would level the game at 1 – 1 when they defeated Catherine Celaire-Francis & Anna-Maria Xavier 21-18, 21-19. The match would have to be decided by a Golden Set with Dorush & Stevenson going down 15-11 to Zahidu Henry & Marcia Renault-Gustave.
Bermuda would close out the day going down to Grenada 2-1, LeBlanc & White defeated Shakira Collymore & Deanne John 21-14, 21-14, before Dorush & Stevenson went down to Thornia Williams & Renisha Stafford 21-13, 11-21, 15-9. Yet again Bermuda would go down in the Golden Set match, this time it was LeBlanc & White going down to Thornia Williams & Renisha Stafford 16-14.
