In honor of his immense work in Para athletics, the late Ken Thom has been awarded the Canadian Paralympic Sport Award for Development Coach of the Year.
Thom many would know coached Bermuda Paralympian Jessica Lewis and touched many hearts and minds of Bermudians, Thom passed away September 24th 2017 and Canada have recognized the work he has done.
Lewis current coach Curtis Thom, son of Ken Thom and a three-time Paralympian said, “I know my dad would be honoured and thrilled to win this award. I and many other athletes benefited greatly from his enthusiasm and dedication to our sport. On behalf of my dad and my family, I want to thank the Canadian Paralympic Committee for honouring my dad's contribution to Canadian parasport.”
