Tyrone Smith has finished 8th competing in the IAAF World Challenge FBK Games Hengelo in The Netherlands.
Smith recorded a top leap of 7.62m, Luvo Manyonga from South Africa picked up the win with a leap of 8.18m, Jeff Henderson from the USA was second leaping 8.15m and Marquis Dendy from the USA was third leaping 8.13m.
Following the Meet Smith stated via Social Media, “After today's result, I'm making an executive decision and changing up my approach. Sometimes you just have to trust your instincts.”
Meanwhile the Bermuda National Athletics Association hosted another Track Meet at the National Sports Center. Clevonte Lodge won the Under 17 Boys 100 Meter Dash with a time of 11.36, Chayse Tanner was second in 11.44 and Keon Glasford finished third clocking 11.67.
Lodge also won the Under 17 Boys 400 Meter Dash clocking 51.80, Sancho Smith was second in 52.60 and J'Auza James finished third with a time of 1:06.79.
Zariah Simmons ran to victory in the Under 20 Women’s 400 Meter Dash clocking a time of 1:05.80, with Jauna James finishing second in 1:08.17.
Amelia Othman won the Under 17 Girls High Jump with a top leap of 1.50m.
