Taahira Butterfield was part of two teams that broke the University of Albany Women’s Track & Field School Records at the Penn Relays.
After just missing the Championship Final with a school record time of 45.29, the women's 4x100m relay team of Dayleen Santana Rodriguez, Chanel Smith, Stephanie Osuji and Butterfield came back to win the College Division Final, breaking their own school record once again, crossing the finish line in 45.22.
Three of the four runners on the 4x100m relay returned to compete in the 4x200m Trials, Osuji (24.04), Butterfield (24.34), and Smith (24.14) were teamed up with anchor leg Halie Snyder (23.89) and placed eighth overall in 1:36.85.
The mark qualified the team for the Championship of America Final, and at the same time broke the previous School Record of 1:38.88 set in 2013 by the team of Ashlee Maduro, Aiyanna James, Kahlia Taylor, and Alison Rogers.
