Senior Dage Minors of the Franklin Pierce University Men's Track & Field team and Shaquille Dill of the Saint Augustine University Men’s Track & Field team will compete for a national title.
At the Birmingham CrossPlex, both advanced to the Finals, Minors was victorious in his 800-meter heat race at the NCAA Championships, which allowed him to advance through to Saturday evening's final, while Dill finished second in Heat 2.
Minors posted a time of 1:52.38, which was good enough to win the heat by eight-hundredths of a second over Emporia State junior Thomas LaRoche who clocked 1:52.46.
Dill stopped the clock in a time of 1:53.78, he was bettered by only Luis Romero in the Heat.
The 800-meter final is set for Saturday, March 11th, at the Birmingham CrossPlex. With only eight runners advancing through to the final, both Minors and Dill are assured to earn All-American First Team accolades in the 800m.
