The University of Albany have been in their preseason training since classes began at the end of August.
The RACC Classic will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1st, with the turbo javelin (the bubble) or javelin (outside) for both men and women. The event’s location will depend on the weather. The weight throw will also start at 9:00 a.m. with both men and women competing together. The first running event of the two-day scrimmage will start at 4:00 p.m. with the 3,000-meter run on the outdoor track.
Competition will resume on Friday, December 2nd at 10:00 a.m., with the shot put and discus starting off the day. The high jump will commence at 2:00 p.m. in the SEFUC Arena. The track events will follow, beginning at 3:30 p.m. with the 500-meter run.
The RACC Classic is used as a marker to determine where the student-athletes stand as the official season starts. The meet also serves as an opportunity for individuals who wish to test their abilities and try out for the team. The official season will begin for some student-athletes the following day on Friday, December 3rd, when part of the team travels to Boston University for the season opener meet.
