Tyrone Smith missed out on an Olympic Men’s Long Jump Final spot by .04m.
Smith recorded a top leap of 7.81m, finishing in 16th place, while Damar Forbes from Jamaica claimed the final Qualifying spot in 12th leaping 7.85m.
Smith on his first attempt leaped 7.78m, he then hit the 7.81m mark on his second attempt and then leaped 7.67m on his third and final attempt.
Smith said, “I gave it my all, but I would have to look at the video to see where it went wrong, it was not how I wanted to celebrate my birthday, nor was it how I wanted my Olympic Career to end.”
