Day One of the 2016 Bermuda XL Catlin National Track and Field Championships turned into a marathon of a night.
Marvellous Ikheukw won the Girls 100 Meter Dash Invitational Open race clocking a time of 11.97, Taahirra Butterfield was second stopping the clock in 11.99 and Cheria Morgan was third in 12.02.
Tre Houston clocked 10.52 on his way to winning the Boy’s 100 Meter Dash Invitational Open race, with Alistair Clarke finishing second in 10.58 and Djymon Reid finishing third in 10.94.
Shaquille Dill won the Boy’s 800 Meter Dash Invitational Open race crossing the line in a time of 1:48.42, Anthonio Mascoll was second in 1:51.03 and Dage Minors finished third stopping the clock in 1:57.15.
Sakari Famous won the Girls Under 17 High Jump with a top leap of 1.75m, with Syriah Lottimore finishing second leaping 1.30m, Emma Kimoto won the Women’s Open High Jump, clearing 1.75m.
Jah-Nhai Perinchief won the Boy’s Under 20 Triple Jump with a top leap of 15.43m, Elisha Darrell was second leaping 14.28m, Keenan Hall won the Men’s Open Triple Jump with a leap of 15.36m, Chas Smith was second leaping 14.90m.
Tiara DeRosa won the Girls Under 20 Discus Throw with a toss of 42.87m, while Quinn Simmons won the Men’s Open Discus Thorw with a top toss of 38.74m.
