When the dust settled the North Village Lady Rams were crowned the Inaugural Disney International Youth Netball tournament Plate Champions.
Lady Rams Manager Stacy Gant said, “We were tired at the start of the day, but this is what tournaments are like.”
The Round Robin action continued first with the North Village Lady Rams went down 31 – 13 to La Lucia from South African Team.
Grant said, “Again we need to make our goals count and it is very evident that we were tired. This is the girls' first international tournament and they are learning lots about what this entails.”
The next match saw the Lady Rams fall 27 – 8 to Meteors Netball an Australian Team. Jordyn Morris led the North Village Lady Rams with 5 goals, while Xah-Niyah Hunt added 2 goals and Brianna Swainson scored once.
Grant commented, “It was a fantastic opportunity for the girls to be able to play against a team from Australia.”
The Lady Rams fell 26 – 10 to the West Aus - sie Thunder. Morris scored 6 goals and Zariah Amory scored 4 goals.
In their final game of the Round Robin stage saw the Lady Rams defeat the Texas Lone Star 1st Team 24 - 6. Hunt scored 15 goals and scored 9 times.
With their overall record of 5 wins and 6 losses the Lady Rams would play in the Plate Division.
In their opener the Lady Rams defeated the Texas Lone Star 2nd Team 10 – 4, Morris scored 7 goals and Hunt scored 3 goals. The Lady Rams next defeated the
Texas Lone Star 1st Team 12 – 4, Swainson scored 8 goals and Hunt scored 4 goals.
The Lady Rams defeated Gad Hill 13 – 0, with 8 goals from Morris and 5 goals from Hunt. The Lady Rams next defeated Chesterfield High 15 – 1 to advance to the Semi-Finals. Swainson led the way with 7 goals, while Amory and Zhanae Simmons scored 4 goals each.
In the Plate-Semi, the Lady Rams defeated the Chesterfield 1st Team 11 - 5. Morris scored 6 goals, while Amory scored 3 and Hunt scored 2.
The Plate Final saw the Lady Rams take on the Texas Lonestar 2nd Team defeating them 29 - 7. Hunt led the team with 21 goals, while Morris scored 5 goals and Swainson scored 3.
