Tyrone Smith in Action IslandStats.com Bermuda Olympian Tyrone Smith competed in the Müller Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham, England.
With another Bermuda Olympian Arantxa King in the Barclaycard Arena crowd, Smith broke the Bermuda Indoor National Long Jump Record with a leap of 7.83m
Smith finished second behind Godfrey Khotso Mokoena from South Africa who finished with a top leap of 7.99m, Smith said, “I had some big fouls today, but I am so excited for outdoor!”
Meanwhile Bermuda Olympic hopeful Jah-Nhai Perinchief had a mixed day competing in the 2017 NJCAA Region XI Indoor Championships.
Perinchief coming back from a two week layoff due to injury recorded a top leap of 7.29m to finish second in the Men’s Long Jump, he did not record a leap in the Men’s High Jump, he came into the event at 2.03, and missed on all three attempts.
