Dr. Jonathan Makanjuola, on behalf of Lateral Flow Bermuda and our local partner in this initiative APEX Physio has written to all the Local respective Sports Administrators,
Dr. Makanjuola wrote, “Thank you for taking the time on a busy weekend to attend the Return to Sport meeting organized by Maceo Dill on behalf of the Department of Youth Sport and Recreation.
As stated, we want to see Bermuda open again and sports is a mainstay to this happening. As a result, we wish to align our efforts together with sports organizations in Bermuda as a collective to secure the best price point that is sustainable for operation. It is my understanding, the new guidelines, using lateral flow tests, have been released in the public domain which mirrors some aspects currently being used in the school system.
Please see our unit pricing. We will hold all orders from any sporting organization, local team, National Sports Governing Bodies (NSGB) or its affiliates to allow us to secure an aggregate order as we push towards 10,000. The idea is to work together to secure the lowest number price per unit.
In this case, if we fall short of the 10,000 unit orders, we will be at the next tier price per unit indicated below. Our mission remains to provide low cost, affordable, high quality lateral flow tests for everyone in Bermuda. The Flow Flex lateral flow test is approved for use by the Bermuda Health Council, UK, EU and US FDA. Over the past two weeks, working hard with the supply chain we have systematically secured lower price points - true to our mission we pass these savings to the consumer. We will continue to employ this approach.
$4.95 over 10,000 units $5.20 for greater than 1,000 units
The cutoff date to secure these price points is 5pm Thursday, October 14th. This date enables us to have the order on the island ready for use in phase 4a and 4b.
Thanks again. Please feel free to share this with your sports community.”
