David Selley and Jordan Fletcher battled the rough seas on both the North Shore and the South Shore on their way to powering their boat across the first overall in a time of 57.23 during the 2014 Rubis Around the Island Boat Race which started and finished inside Ferry Reach.
There was excitement right from the start as the A Class boats met 4-6 foot waves as they exited the pillions at Ferry Reach giving the crowd a spectacular view, but one of the most fantastic sights was when Philip Correia and Joe Viera in PX15 came on the inside of Cameron Harris and Lavon Seymour onboard S57 as the two made the final turn before powering back inside Ferry Reach.
