With the Round the Island Powerboat Race scheduled for this coming Sunday August 17th, Islandstats.com will highlight the boats that have signed up for the event by Class.
As indicated last year the first boat across the line in each Class is declared the winner.
Today we continue with the S Class.
Driver: Shaki Easton Co Pilot: Derek Seymour Boat Number: S 7 Boat Make: Motion Length of Boat: 25 feet Engine Type: Mercury 280hp x 2 – Modifications permitted
Back on the scene we have Shaki Easton along with his co-pilot Derek Seymour racing in their 25 foot Motion powerboat powered by twin modified 280hp engines. The pair have raced in previous years but had some mechanical issues. They are now back with the boat running strong and are now making a comeback. This year they are the currently in first place in national points. They will be looking to give it their all to compete for the top spot.
Driver: Steve Bridges Co Pilot: Aaron Sims Boat Number: S 20 Boat Make: Skater Length of Boat: 28 feet Engine Type: Mercury 280hp x 2 – Modifications permitted
In S 20 we have Steven Bridges and Aaron Sims in their 28 foot Skater powerboat powered by twin modified 280hp engines. The duo have raced together for a few years now in this boat and are highly competitive in their class. Last year they were having a good run for the title but a mechanical issue arose and took them out of the race. They will be pushing for the boat to the limit and then some looking to be the first ones across the line.
Driver: Kenneth Desilva/Cameron Harris Co Pilot: Lavon Seymour Boat Number: S 57 Boat Make: Predator Length of Boat: 30 feet Engine Type: Mercury 280hp x 2 – Modifications permitted
This year Kenneth Desilva and or Cameron Harris along with Lavon Seymour will be piloting S 57 their 30 foot Predator powerboat powered by twin modified 280hp engines. They have all raced this boat together in the past and have had good success. This year they are expected to be competing for the top spot and will be pushing hard to be the ones that claim first place.
