It was a nervous time on the waters of Ferry Reach yesterday during the latest round of Bermuda Powerboat Association racing.
Pleasure crafts and a couple on a Jetski came within inches of causing a major incident.
The first incident was when a couple on a Jetski ignored all the warnings of the spectators on the shore line and ventured into the racing lines with first Bobby Decosta and Fransico Decosta in D13 fast approaching and then Graham Sutherland and McNeil Wilson in D25, both drivers having to make moves to avoid making contact.
The next incident took place only minutes later when a boat carrying divers attempted to go through the pillions and make it to the Grotto Bay forcing Tonka Simpson and Seth Chetty in FB25 and Stuart Durham and Henry Trott in C32 to both stop their boats to avoid a collision.
