Sebastian Kempe and Nicole Stovell began competing in the 2022 ILCA 6 Youth World Championship in Shoreacres, Texas, USA at the Houston Yacht Club.
Two races were sailed on the opening day in the Men’s and Women’s Divisions.
Stovell started the day with an 8th place finish, she would then finish 19th in the second race of the day to come off the water in the Women’s Division in 12th place with 27 points.
Kempe started the regatta finishing 3rd in the first race of the day, he would then be ruled NSC (Did not sail the course) in the second race and was handed 53 points, Kempe will have a chance to appeal the ruling and improve on his 84th place with 56 points.
