While the Bermuda Optimist Team continue to compete in Chile, the BODA Racing Group competed for the Triangle Rigging April Mini-Series. With ideal conditions for Spring sailing many Green Fleet sailors ventured out to compete in the Silver Fleet Racing. A series of 5 races were sailed in Hamilton Harbour, Race Officers Matthew and Gretchen Dill set great courses for all the sailors to enjoy.

12 competitors ranging in age from 7 up to 13 competed in near perfect conditions. The new Event Sailing Instructions were in force and sailors enjoyed the new format of sailing in a change from the Advanced and Intermediate Racing of yester-year. 3 sailors dominated the front of the fleet, with Benn Smith coming out top at the end of the day closely pursued by Matilda Nicholls and Campbell Patton. Kieran Swann and Christian Chin-Gurret were tied on equal points for 4th place, with Swann's 1st place finish in race 2 seeing him finish ahead after the tie-break. Nicky Siese rounded out the top half of the fleet.

Green Fleet sailor Geroge Buckley finished the day 7th overall after a spectacular 4th place in the last race of the day, he was tied on points with Yannick Hillier who came 8th after another tie-break. Thomas Penruddocke, Samay Dill, Camille Chin and 7 year old Flo Nicholls battled it out for 9th to 12th place. All sailors came ashore with big smiles after a great day on the water, a fantastic way to start off the Spring BODA Racing.

At the prize giving for the Triangle Rigging April Mini-Series, BODA President Anthony Bailey thanked all the volunteers who made the day possible and welcomed the new Green Fleet sailors who came out for some Silver Fleet Racing for the first time. He then thanked the coaches Paul Doughty and Tom Herbert-Evans. Bailey said "It was indeed a pleasure to see the Silver fleet sailors racing in and more importantly having fun.”
