A crisis has reached the Bermuda Football Association (BFA) in regard to officiating matches.
Crenstant Williams the BFA Second Vice President and the Chairman of the Referee’s Committee states we are in a crisis!
Williams said, “We held a course recently and most of the participants stated they took the course for information purposes so we are struggling to have match officials.”
“Todate we have 22 referees, when we need 30 each weekend, so i am pleading to the public if anyone wants to get involved contact the BFA Office and we can have you trained up and ready to help out this season,” continued Williams.
Williams concluded by saying, “Clubs need to take control of their players and fans in order to combat the shortage of officials, as they contribute to the low numbers just by the verbal abuse that officials are constantly subjected to.”
