Premier Michael Dunkley and the Minister of Community, Culture and Sports, Pat Gordon-Pamplin were presented with official Bermuda Team Football Jerseys from the Bermuda Football Association (BFA).
Premier Dunkley said he was “Thrilled and Honored” to receive an official team Jersey, and took the opportunity to congratulate the Bermuda National Team on their convincing 5-0 World Cup qualifying win over the Bahamas.
The Premier said, “I want to congratulate our National Football team who represented Bermuda with extreme poise and pride last night, and all of Bermuda should be celebrating their achievement. We still have another critical match ahead of us on Sunday afternoon against the Bahamas, so I want to encourage all of Bermuda to come out in full force with their Bermuda flags, air horns and whistles and show their support for our team. I’ll be in attendance at the match wearing my team jersey, and I can’t wait to see what lies in store for the fans on Sunday.”
Meanwhile, Minister Gordon-Pamplin said, “It was an honor to receive this jersey today. We certainly are excited about the team’s win last night, and I am pleased at the level of support being expressed for our National Football Team.”
Also on hand at the Cabinet Office today was Damon Ming and Ebonie Burgess who received the Minister’s Male and Female Awards for Football respectively at the recently held Sports Awards.
