Vasco 3 St. David’s 2


Vasco have won their first Bermuda Football Association League match in 19 years. Vasco bowed out of the Bermuda Football Association Leagues at the end of the 1999-2000 season, but a 3 – 2 win at the Bernard Park over St. David’s earned them their first victory of the season in the League.

Vasco earlier this season defeated the same opponents at the same venue in the Shield took the lead in the 35th minute when Ryan Parris scored, two minutes later it was 2 – 0 when Ricardo Ponte found the back of the net.

In the 51st minute Vasco would go ahead 3 – 0 when Ronald Bell’s long range free kick ended up in the back of the net, but St. David’s would pull a goal back in the 59th minute when Jamal Woodley struck a right footed shot that beat the Vasco keeper. St. David’s would then make it 3 – 2 when Deshun Hendrickson’s free kick from the edge of the box found the back of the net in the 82nd minute, but Vasco was able to hold on for the win.

PREMIER DIVISION

Robin Hood 7 Paget Lions 0


Robin Hood put the pressure back on the PHC Zebras at the top of the table, with this big win over the Paget Lions at the BAA Field.

Following the win Robin Hood moved to the top of the Premier Division Standings on Goal Difference having played a game more than the PHC Zebras.

At the break Robin Hood would lead 5 – 0 with Antwan Russell scoring 4 times, with Shakir Smith adding the other.

In the second half Lejuan Simmons got things started making it 6 – 0 and Smith would add his second of the game to make the final 7 – 0.
