Corona League Season 2018/19 Set

IslandStats.com
Corona League will this season celebrate their 10th Season. The teams challenging for the league title this season are BAA Wanderers, Flanagan’s Onions, Footy Kings, Lock & Key, Robin Hood, The Royal Bermuda Regiment, Tuff Dogs Sports Club and West End United.

The 2018-19 Season will kick off on Friday October 5th with the Coronita Charity Cup being contested by the league winners West End United and the Cup winners Robin Hood.

President of the Corona League Mike McGrath said, “We may well be entering the 10th Season but nothing stands still with the Corona league. This season sees the introduction of our new league format which will see the full league be played and then the table will split into top and bottom which will create 2 mini leagues to decide the league champions and the not so proud holder of the wooden spoon. The league has gone down to the wire repeated so why not enjoy that action a little more with the mini leagues deciding things.”

After the excitement of the Coronita Charity cup the anticipation will build till the league kicks off on Friday October 12th when you can cheer on your team again.

With a break for Christmas and Cup rounds filtered into the schedule the league continues till the end of March with the last 3 weeks being our new split format. We must wait till then to find out who is the 10th season Champion. We all know there will be plenty of drama and exciting football on the journey to discover that name.

Kick off times will be 7pm and 9pm on Fridays and Saturday will host 3pm and 5pm kick offs so everyone can learn the tricks watching the EPL and bring them to the field that afternoon.

The league is not the only thing to see changes as the Corona Cup will see the reintroduction of the Champions league format. There will be 2 leagues playing 3 games to decide who gets a spot in the semi Finals to be played on the 8th March and those games will produce the 2 teams that sign off our 10th season for us on the 5th April with the Corona Cup Final.
