The Football Community is still trying to come to grips with the sudden death of Mazhye Burchall, Mark Wade the current Bermuda Football Association President, was coaching the pHC Zebras when Burchall burst onto the scene.
Many news outlets around Bermuda have focused on Burchall’s CONCACAF goal, but football fans around the island would remember that Burchall’s name quickly became a household one when he scored the PHC Zebras Dudley Eve winner at the Wellington Oval back on November 11th, 2015.
Burchall, within four minutes after coming on as a 74th-minute substitute, it was his first goal for the senior team. Burchall was a CedarBridge Academy student at the time making his first appearance in a Senior Cup Final.
Wade during an interview reflected on Burchall and his talent that was recognized early in his young career.
Meanwhile the Bermuda Football Association has announced two Premier Division matches have been postponed due to the funeral of Burchall which will take place on Sunday September 23rd.
