Tomer Hemed netted the only goal of the game on his QPR debut, as Rangers picked up their first win of the Sky Bet Championship campaign against Wigan Athletic at Loftus Road.
This was far from a thrilling spectacle, and understandably a tense one at times, but what matters most is that Steve McClaren’s men battled their way to three much-needed points.
Brighton & Hove Albion loanee Hemed struck the crucial blow 10 minutes before the break – hooking home with his left foot from eight yards following a Luke Freeman corner kick.
New loan captures Hemed and Nahki Wells were both handed their debuts for the visit of in-form Wigan, as Rangers made four changes in total following the midweek defeat to Bristol City.

Cheltenham Town delivered a smash and grab result against Reggie Lambe and his Cambridge United teammates, as Sam Jones' second half goal proved to be the difference in a 1-0 defeat at the Abbey Stadium in Sky Bet League Two.
For the second time in a week, United dominated proceedings on home soil but were punished from the Robin’s only chance of the match, which striker Sam Jones tucked away on 66 minutes, Lambe entered the game ten minutes later, but they could not find the equalizer.

Dante Leverock scored the only goal of the game as JK Navra Trans defeated Tallinna Kalev 1 – 0.
Leverock’s goal came in the 37th minute and it held up.
