Nottingham Forest Under 23’s 1 Burnley Under 23’s 1
Nahki Wells was in the starting lineup for Burnley as an over aged player in action for the Under 23’s taking on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
Burnley took the lead in the 22nd minute when Freddy Ulvestad found the back of the net. Dwight McNeil played a nice ball to the back post, for the midfielder to head home.
Wells had a quiet first half as the teams went to the break with the score remaining 1 - 0.
Nottingham Forest were level in the 50th minute, Matty Cash scored from close range after he was picked out with a perfect pass.
Nine minutes later Khius Metz replaced Wells.
Neither team would score again with the match finishing 1 - 1.
“It was good to get some minutes under my belt after a long three or four months,” Wells told Clarets Player HD.
“To come out of it fit and healthy is the most important thing.
“I felt good. My fitness is still lacking but that’s going to come in the next couple of weeks.
“In training I have felt really well, but there’s nothing like playing a match.
“There’s no comparison to match fitness and I think that’s the only thing I lack at the minute, which comes through playing games.
“I will keep training and keep playing these games when they come about to keep ticking those minutes off and before you know it I think I’ll be ready to play my part when called upon.”
