Reggie Lambe and his new Carlisle United teammates battled out a competitive first friendly of the season against Queen of the South and the visitors grabbed the win after the hosts had mounted a second half fight back.
The Queens went into the break two goals to the good – one bagged on the stroke of half time by former-Blue Steven Rigg – but a crisp volley from Lambe and a peach of a free kick from Danny Grainger brought things back to level terms with just over half an hour left to play.
A late winner sealed it for the away side but there were plenty of positives to take from the lively run-out.
