www.islandstats.com can reveal that former Bermuda National team captain Shannon Burgess was elected as the Bermuda Football Associations 2nd Vice President.
The Bermuda Football Association held their Semi-Annual Congress Meeting at the Devonshire Recreation Club.
The post was made available after long serving Bermuda Football Association member and 2nd Vice President Gregory Grimes retired.
Devonshire Colts stalwart Burgess has served on the Bermuda Football Association Executive since 2010, he was previously Chairman of the Competitions Committee, but now holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Competitions Committee.
Privately Burgess, is Head of Wholesale Credit at HSBC.
Burgess’s election to the new post opened up a vacant spot on the Executive Committee that saw Charryse Bean from the PHC Zebras elected to the Executive, which would more than likely make history as the Bermuda Football Association now have two female serving as Executive Members at the same time for the first time.
Bean is the Senior Recreation Officer at the Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation.
