BAA Advance to the Shield Final

St. George’s Colts 0 BAA 4


At the PHC Stadium, BAA defeated a ten-men St. George’s Colts team 4 – 0 and advance to meet X-Road’s in the Shield Final scheduled for New Years Day at the Somerset Cricket Club.

The games opening goal came in the 17th minute, a foul committed just outside the St. George’s Colts box saw Willie Clemons take the kick while the St. George’s Colts players were setting up the wall for the free kick and the ball went straight into the net much to the displeasure of the defending team, who had their goalkeeper Charles Marshall sent off after the referee consulted the linesman.

BAA took the one goal lead to the break, but it was the St. George’s Colts who came close to scoring the second goal of the game, Maccai Simmons had a penalty kick comeback off the crossbar early in the second half. Troy Tucker then took over, Tucker put BAA ahead in the 68th minute, seven minutes later Tucker found the back of the net again making it 3 – 0 and when Nicholas Araujo scored for BAA in the 77th minute it made the score 4 – 0 for BAA to advance.

PHC Zebras Advance to the Friendship Final

North Village Rams 1 PHC Zebras 2























The North Village Rams went ahead in the 3rd minute when Pierre Smith got on the end of a cross and headed the ball from some six yards out pass a stranded Troy Hall in goal for the PHC Zebras. The PHC Zebras then turned up the pressure in the match forcing the North Village Rams defenders into making bad decision constantly giving the ball away. The equalizer came in the 28th minute when Castle Castle scored from close range after Marco Warren created the chance for the inform strike to slot the ball away. The teams went to the break even at 1 – 1.

The second half proved to be much like the first with both teams trying to win the battle in the midfield, Shakir Smith scored what proved to be the winner in the match when he scored in the 86th minute earning the PHC Zebras a Friendship Trophy Final spot against the Somerset Trojans on New Years Day at the Somerset Cricket Club.
