Djair Parfitt-Williams and his West Ham Development teammates went looking to record their first win of the season when they played host to Newcastle United.
West Ham took the lead in the 5th minute, Jordan Brown ran onto a slotted through ball to finish calmly past Brendan Pearson. Just the start the Development Squad would have wanted.
West Ham United continued to peg Newcastle United back in their half and in the 16th minute the onslaught continued as Parfitt-Williams looked to curl a shot into the top corner however he hits it slightly to close to Pearson who clutches it gratefully.
Brown went on a run in the 23rd minute, but his ball into Parfitt-Williams had just too much on it as it ran out of touch. Newcastle drew level in the 32nd minute against the run of play. Ivan Toney capitalises on a moment of indecision and rolled the ball home from close range.
Somehow West Ham at this point have only scored once, the amount of chances they created is unbelievable! As the teams went to the break with the score locked at 1 – 1.
In the 70th minute Amos Nasha is on in place Parfitt-Williams who is still making his way back to full fitness. However with two minutes remaining Newcastle took the lead, a absolute sickener. Callum Roberts does well to burst through the defense and place a shot past the West Ham United goalkeeper.
Late drama as one minute later West Ham were awarded a penalty! Belic does ever so well to get the ball before Pearson and he's wiped out. Somehow it's not a red card but no matter as Martin Samuelsen steps up and slots it home coolly for the 2 – 2 draw.
