Wells Tells Examiner We Owe Our Fans

IslandStats.com
In a Huddersfield Daily Examiner article written by Doug Thomson, Nahki Wells says Huddersfield Town are 100 per cent focused on beating Blackburn Rovers and galvanizing their Championship campaign.

The Bermuda international striker insists Chris Powell’s side were just “a few” per cent below opening-day league opponents Hull City as they slumped to a 2-0 defeat at the KC Stadium.

That was followed by Tuesday’s disappointing Capital One exit at home to League II Notts County, and Wells admitted: “We fell short.”

“We owe our fans a performance, especially at home, and we all want to get off the mark,” said the former Bradford City man.

“The management prepared us well for both matches – the results were down to us as players.

“We know we have the quality within the squad, and we know getting points on board will calm any jitters.”

It’s the first of consecutive home league games, with Brighton and Hove Albion visiting on Tuesday.

The South coast side head to Fulham chasing a third win in as many games.

They beat Nottingham Forest at home in the Championship and Southend United away in the Capital One Cup, both 1-0.

Wells added: “We know a win against Blackburn will send us into Tuesday’s game against Brighton with a bit of buoyancy.”
